V The Dunedin Jockey Club Oom- * mittoe, in their annual report stats 1 that for the first time for many years the accounts show a loss on the year's operations, the actual loss being £1865 2b 03. The revenue fell oil during the year to the amount of £2501. The shrinkage is due to the totafaor investments being loss by £20,811. There was paid to Government in totalisator tax £C?9 18s 9d. The Club paid the tax for four moot* ings out of itp own revenue, but owing to the Prions deficiency ap* parent, the tax at the Spring Meeting was charged to the public. Tho committee have decided to cnrtail the number of racing days for the seauon 1893-94 by three days, taking a day each off the Spring, Anniversary and Hunt Club Meetings,
