MAURICEVILLE ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the Maur« iceville .Road Board was held on Saturday the 31st December, there being present Messrs 0. Forßberg (chairman), P, Anderson, C. Tait, and J. Bannister.

■Communications werereceived from thb Commissioner of Orown Lands re rating areas for loans, and also enclosing schedules of accrued thirds and forms for seleotors on mado roads to Bign, if they approve of the Land Board paying their thirds over to the Eoad Hoard to be used as part of i goneral revenuo of the district.

From the Secretory of the Treasury giving information regarding the proceedings to be taken in raising the loan for ihuraua Boad and also refusing to accept proposed value for section 192 in conneotion with the loan.

From the same provisionally approving of loans of £IOO for Mt Bruce Boad, and £l2O for Dorset's Jtlridge. The extra 10 per cont. on tho loan of £BOO for Mount Munro Eoad East was received from tho Treasury. Tlio clerk was instructed to again communicate with the Secretary to tho Treasury regarding tho loan for Ihuraua Boad. The Chairman and Mr J. Bannistor wore appointed to make arrangements for working plans being prepared for Mount Bruce Eoad and Dorset's Bridge and also to call for tenders for these works, provided they considered it advisable to do so beiore next meeting.

The Chairman, Mr J. Bannister and tho clerk wore appointed to meet at the Eoad Board oOico on Saturday, the 7th January, to fill in tho "Proposals " for the expenditure of Thirds.

It was decided to call for tenders for metalling about 40 chains of Oreyor's Eeclt Road, Cheques amounting to £6B 6s were passed for payment, Bates collected i;ince last meeting £12125.
