AUCKLAND NEWS.
A Drink Mini [By Telegraph.—Press Association.] Auckland, Tuesday, A well-known native agent named James Maokay has been received into the hospital, suffering from serious and indescribable injuries inflicted upon himself on Tuesday last, when he dangerously wounded himself with a piece of wire. Tho police were informed of the occurrence, but Mackay, who had been drinking beavily,struggled violently and was only removed by force. He now lies in. a critical condition.
The circumstances of Walter Stubbings death, go to show that he committed suicide by taking a dose of prosaic acid, A letter found in his pocket stated that the writer was Sired of life, A verdict of suicide has been returned,
Hanmer, whose death was reported r yesterday, died from a stroke of apop4k( lexy, He was on a visit to Auckland, Ho has been ailing some time. Hanmer plains were named after him.
