FATAL ACCIDENT.

Killed by a Train

CmtisTciiuucii, Friday.

Word was received this morning that a man whose nnmo is unknown was run over and killed by the last train to Sumner last night. It is believed deceased has been working at the water works. The accident happened near Moncb Corner. The deceased man is of medium build, about 50 years of age, and. was seen passing the Cave Rock Hotel about 7 o'clock, to all appearanct quite sober. The unfortunate man's left arm and tight wrist were broken, and a deep gash inflicted on bis head, and another on his side. Money to the amount of £2 18s was found in his pocket.
