ALFREDTON ROAD BOARD.
Ordinary Meeting,
The ordinary meeting of the Alfredton Road Board was held on December 12th, there being present Messrs H, Dunn (Chairman), J. Boustead, :Ccoil Kobbell, S. M, George, Eli Smith, T, H. Groves and Holmes Warron,
The minutes of the last meeting were road and confirmed.
CPRKESPOSDENCfc was received from Ckrk to tbe North County Counoil re pbtainiug the Engineer's services and stating that Mr McLaohlnn will be able to do the work in about fivo weeks' time, on the Pah and Mangaone Valley Xtoads, under supervision of tho County Engineer, From tbe Bank of New Zealand, acknowledging receipt of £ll9 -Is 7d for F.D.R., and £i 9a lid for general account.
From the Colonial Secretary, stating tbe Pah and Mangaone Valley Koad loans were gazetted on Nov. 10th. Also that special order for striking a speoialrataof 7d in the £ was gazetted on November 18th, From the Treasury stating that the Pori Road loan is now available,
Tho Survey Department wroto enclosing conditions for tho Maugaoue Bridge, to cost £260. It was dooided that the chairman sign tbe conditions and affix the Board's seal. The Clerk of tho Wairarapa North County wroto informing tho Board that the Counoil would expend £lO on Castle Hill district road if the Board would expends for &, .
The Maurioevillo Road Board wrote offering to look after the work on lue Ihuraua Koad, if the proposed loan is | carried. General It was decided to call a meeting of ratepayers of the Ihuraua Ward for December 20th at 1 p.m., to consider Mr Wm. Cross' claim for compenj sation,
Messrs J. A. Smith and others wrote re expenditure of thirds for the formation of Grey and Fiizhorbert i Street. '

Mr E. McDonald waited on tho Board with a petition rt> Pori road works, requesting the Board to Btart work at onco, and from the road from the junction of Suunders' road with Pori road in a northerly direction, It wnß resolved to grant the request suhjeot to the approval of the Engineer, of the timber to be used in the culverts,
It was resolved to call for tenders for the Pori road works, tedders to close at 7 p.m. A special order, striking a special ralooffand oto-thirtielh pence in Iho £ on Poii Road, was passed. It wan' decided to place tho sum of £lB7 ls,6d (thirds) on the F.D.K, for one year for the Tawoitaia Road Loan No. 1.
Mr T. H, Groves' name was placed on the valuation roll for section 27, B. XI,, Mangaone, in place Mr 01sen's.
Sums amounting to £24 4s fid for the Te Hoe and Tiraumea Wards were passed for metalling on tho main road.
Accounts amounting to £43 5s 7d were passed for payment, Messrs E. Smith and C, Kebbell being appointed to sign cheques. The meeting then adjourned.
