WHERE THE MONEY GOES.
Six Tatteraall "Sweeps," - (By "Zephyr.") m An intereiting'return has just reached me from Sydney, New Bomb Wslee, showing the detailed results of the drawings in the six consultations ou the Melbourne Cup and Caulfield Oup—both rtcent races—organised by the well-known" Tatter* , sail, oareof Georgo Adims." I The total sum iorohed in these six sweeps, whioh it must be remembered ere only a portion of Tatiewall'a business for the year, - waß considerably over £200,000. The promoter's commission at ten per cent, on this sum amounts to £2o,ooo—a very tidy recompense for the time, trouble, and outlay necessary to be expended in successfully conducting these financial operations, it must be admitted. Of the. "large" money, £9,000, only, came to New Zealand, and a perusal of the attached .statemint showing where the balance went is rather an interesting study, jtftfwj only 10.-PPM! w|o dmr
