Mr D. Crewe's Sales.
Mr I). Crewe reports :f~ On Saturday, December 10th, at eleven o'olook, I held my first horse sab at Pahiatua, Owiiiß, doubtless, to the high reserves placed on the Wanganui,stook, very little was sold. I succeeded, however, in obtaining good prices for all local entries of horses, enrts, hurness, and farming implements, and vendors wero very well satisfied.
. At two o'clook on the same day I held a sale of furniture, clothing, <md. bacon in the Mart, Pahiatua. The attendance was large, and bidding wrb spirited throughout. About 1601ir.es were quitted at satisfactory prices to vendors,
On Tuesday, December 18th, at one o'clock, I held my seoond Masterton stock sale at the To Ore Ore yards, The entries consisted of about 400 sheep, one pen of fat oows, and several dairy oows with calves. Tinfollowing prices were realised:—Fat sheep, mixed, medium quality, 10s; a line of two-tooth ewes was passedjg--' at 10s 9d | two-tooth wethers, 9b IHj fat oows, medium quality, JH 10s; dairy to £5 fis; horses dull in demand. ■
' On Wednesday, December Utb, at 11 o'clock, I hold a Btook salo at v Pabiatua. Some twenty first-data dairy heifer's were yarded, also several good dairy oowb, and about 400 head of sheep. Tho attendanoe was good, and bidding wbb brisk for a good clasj of dairy stook. The following prices w re realised:—Qood dairy heifrrs, L 4 15b to L6ss; cows in milk/ L 4 106 to L 5 2s; dry cows (well forward), U 11a; good strong weaners, 80s to 87i>; crossbred merino store stop, 7a 6d to 8s 3d; ewes and lambs, all count, 6s. Horses dull in demand,
