Site for the New Building.

Eketahuna, Wednesday, .«f A committee meeting was held in the Foresters' Hull, Eketahuna, on Wednesday evening to consider what steps should bo taken about the land promised by Mr T. O, Williams for a building aito for the Public Library and Beading Boom, There were present Messrs Bennett (Chairman), Matheson, Bayliss, Neilson, SyverBorj, Smith, Carter and Nordell. The Chairman called upon Mr Matheson to inform the meeting what *W had done about interviewing MrT. O, Williams with regard to the lond promised. Mr Matheson said that he had been anablo to seo that gentleman, buyitrougl) his agent, Mr Von Reden, htTful written to Mr Williams, who ♦ had promised to give them the land for the building site. Messrs Bcunett and Hmitk had pegged out the site, but thought it rather small, and intended to ask Mr Williams to increase his gift by a further grant of twenty feet buck, Thoy had also asked Mr King if he would survoy tho hind and prepare plans for a building. He agreed to do so, and would give his services as a donation to the Library, Mr Matheson moved that Mr T; C. Williams be written to pointing out that the whole scheme has now been waiting three months for entry on to the land h« promised, and asking that he will be good enough to complete the gift, so that a building can be erected.—This was seconded and carried, * Mr Syvorson moved, and Mr Carter seconded, that the n*xtmoeting bn held on January fJtb, 1898, to consider the answer which will then have been received from Mr T. C. Williams,— carried.

(UFBayliss moved and Mr Syvorsou seconded," Tbat soven members form a quorum."—Carried. The Chairman moved, and Mr Mntbeson seconded" That the Secretary of the Free Public Library in Wellington bo written to and asked to forward n catalogue of tbeir books," The meeting then adjourned.
