FEATHERSTON TOWN BOARD.

The adjourned meeting of the Featherstoii Town Hoard and Library Committee was held last night, there boing present Messrs W, Candy (Chairman), A. Donald, G. W. Reynolds, W. Hodder and J. Deal.

Tho minutes of the last quarterly meeting of tho Library Committee were read, aud confirmed, The Treasurer's report showed a balance of Ll7 16s 2d, Accounts amonntingio L 9 15s 6d wore passed for payment, The minutes of the last meeting of the Board were read, but Mr Beal objected to confirmation on the ground that the question of Mr Roland's tender for road work had been discussed after tho meeting had closed. It was explained to Mr Beal that Mr Roband had thrown up his tender andtliememlicis present decided to give the work to the other tenderer, Mr Beal was satisfied and the minutes were passed, The Treasurer's report showed a balance of L7l 6s 7d, Accounts were passed for payment amounting to Ll3 4s 2d.

The inspector of tho poundkeoper's book handed in is for tho mouth. On the motion of Mr Reynolds the tenders were considered in committee.

The following tenders wore accepted :—Library reserve, Mr McThane, £2 per annum; sec, 42, J, Beal, 10s per year; sec, 87, W. Gundy, 10s per year; sec. noxt Dorset Square, E. J. Searl, £5 per year, Mr Reynolds gavo notice of motion that the cons'.ablo be empowered to prosecute under Town Board by-laws. Re. Mr Roband's tender, the Clerk stated that the specifications bad been signed by Mr Hodder. Mr Beal thought the accepted tender too high. The Chairman explained that it could not be helped as thero was no other in when Mr Roband withdrew his,

It was resolved to return Mr Roband his deposit, The next meeting of tho Board will bo held on January 9th, 1893,
