ACCLIMATISATION.
Galifomian Salmon in the Mi Rim (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Wellington, Thursday. At the meeting of tho Philosophical Society last night, Sir James Hector said he regretted tbat the Acclimatisation Society had put different kinds of trout in tho same rivers, because a cross was sure to bo tho result, anil no good specimens could thereby bo obtained, He stated that he had caught Loch Loven trout in the Hutt river, and a fish whiebbo believed was the true Californian salmon,
