WELLINGTON LAND BOARD.
Tho usual meeting of the above Board was held yesterday at tho Lands Office. The following gentlemen were :-Messrs J. H. Baker (chairW man), W. A, Fitzherhert, A. W. Hogg, M.H.K., and J. Fisher. The following applications for title were granted:—R. N, and M, Burt, Makuri district; T. P. Girdwood, Mangahao; W. Fitzsimmons, same place; B. G. Scadden, J. Harding, J, E. Gibbs, also same place; A. L. McDonald, Waipnkuran; B, Whisky, Bunny thorpe; V. B. J. Komouski, Mangahao; J, G, Nicholls, Mangaone; J. W. Hall, Mangahao; J, Stent, Apiti; F. W. Welford, Ongo; E, ritub, Mangahao; A, J. Richardson, Apiti. There was one application for title (E, Moore) whero the conditions had Dot been complied with, which was refused, The approved transfers were as fol-
lows:-A, Clayton to C, Clayton Hautepu; A. May to E, J. Rap Ongo; H. Costal to H, J. Grnnbl Pohangina; M.Walsh to S. J. Walsb, Mangaone; A. Stevenson to A. B. Carr, Mangahao; T. H. England to A. N.Asker, Ongo; D. 8. Stewart J. Bene, Ongo; 1), McKonzio, Jun,, to H. and L. D. McKenzie, Kopuranga; J, H, Martin lo F. A, May, Mangaone,
J, F. Duffy's application for transfer of eeotioa 81, Blook XI, Mangaone, was refused. A schedule of lands disposed of by ballot to members of special settlement under regulations for the formation of Farm Homestead Associations waß read and approved, The following applications for land under the Laud Aot, 1885, were approved:- Eun No, 51, Block H. Rewa, 1480 acres, to Messrs A, and L, Gibson; section 20, Block XIII., Manganui, 400 acres, to D. Ledward. The following transfers were passed; —Section 9, Block XL, Apiti, from . T. Hennelly to J. Humphrey; section 79, block 1,, Makuri, from B, Hathaway to. 0, H. Petrie; section 4, Block XI,, Makotuku, from A. Craig to T, H. Edwards; section 25, Block 111., Apiti, from H, Steat to J, Stent; *sction 88, Block VII,, Mangaouo, M. Johansen to Messrs Keestcr and Harding.
Mr J. J. Juuger wrote to the Board objecting to the proposed transfer of section 61, Blook V., Mangaone, from Mr J, Burbage to tbe Messrs Timmins. It was resolved to obtain the Ranger's report onMbe ciroum6tanccs of the case. It was resolved to approve of the transfer of section 22, Blook XIV., Tarawa, from W, J, Bayliss to N. Lund, provided the improvements required are effected and a proper application is recoived. The following applications to capitalise were granted, subject to the üßual conditions ;-J. Komowski, J. E. Gilby, B. G. Scadden, A. J, Richardson, F. Williams, J. Stent, A, J. Pelligrew, E: Stach, E. T. Burgen and H. Webb.. With reference to the question of returning licenses after transfers have been completed to the persons who forward them, it was resolved that the licenses will be returned to whomever is authorised by the transferee to them. Mr F. Jarrett explained why he bad allowed another person to occupy section 80, blook 14, Mangaone, and it was resolved to take no further action in tbe matter. ' Mr E, Wallis applied for exemption from personal residence on section 5, Tutaekara V. S., and the ap< plication was granted, to continue in force until the road is made. It was resolved to callthoattention of the Government to the necessity of opening up tbe roads in the Mangaramarama V. S., as the Board find that they cannot enforce the conditions of settlement, the settlors being unable io get ou to their sections
It was resolved to open (or sale by auction town lands at Mukotuku and Ohnkemp, and rural lands for application at Otararnoho block, seotions in MuDiohaki, Mangawa, Otamakapin and Wlurita blocks.
