To-morrow the Greytown mayoral contest is to he decided between posfiihly the best business man in the town and a farmer who cannot claim any very extended knowledge of municipal matters. The former has been induced to come forward because it has been considered that the town would be benefited by his election to the position, the latter probably seeks it beoause the position would be a benefit to him, The result will indicate whether the town intends to go forward or backward, Those who are familiar with Greytown municipal affairs hold that at the present time the services of a good business man are needed in the mayoral chair: it is for tho ratepayers to accept 'or reject these services. Possibly Mr F. H. Wood, whose hands are pretty full with his own extensive business, will be glad to be relieved from the task of supervising tho affairs of the town, although he has responded to the call made upon him to becomo a candidate, but while lie would personally be a gainer by such a release, the town would inevitably be a loser. We cannot but believe that the burgesses of Greytown are sullicientlyintelligeut and wide awake to return Mr Wood
