RUNWAYS AT GREYTOWN.
Two runaways occurred yesterday near Qreytown, but fortunately neither of them were attended with sorious results, Early in the afternoon Mr 6. Carter, of Parkvale, was nearing Qreytown in a gig, when lio dropped to whip, He pulled up and alighted to recover it, No sooner was ho out of tho vehicle than the horse started full tear for Greytown, He passed several vehicles, navigated the bridges and corners safely, and oventually stopped voluntarily at Dr Spratt's gate, without doing any injury whatever, Another was Mr J. Fuller, who was returning (also in a gig) from his farm at Popawui, He had not. gone far. when his steed essayed to stumble- and Mr Fuller gave it a cut with his whip, The noble quadruped, apparently thinking that the sooner he got away from that place the bettor,immediately increased his paoe to a hard gallop. No harm came until ho reaohed the creek, whon instead of keeping to tho road, tho horse attempted to cross tho footbridge, which ho failed to do. Mr Puller was thrown rather violently out of the gig, and sustained a few bruises, but beyond this, very little damage was dono,
