Dunedin, Thursday. At the annual meeting of the National Inßuranco Ooy., Mr Ramsey, in moving the adoption of tho report, said:" As a result of our retirement from London the general marine, business will be a big drop. The marine premium incomes for the current year will be moro than counterbalanced by the proportionately bigger reduction in the item of losses. Perhaps the most gratifying feature of the report is that we have made an indemnity profit for tho year of £5278. and are ablo to recommend the payment of a bonus of 2i per cent in addition to the usual ten per cent dividend. The profit is not large, but is ' a great improvement on our expenditure of recent years, nnd it is hoped that it is an earnest of better things to come in the near future, Our losses for the year amount to £94,951 and include an immensely large number of risks on steamers and sailing vessols that have come to grief, and in the light class of private dwellings destroyed by fire. The nett result of the operations is £6,704 bettor than for the preceding period, and after It paying in addition to the diviv'dend and bonus of per cent, we start wiili £4153 more to go on with than we had at the beginning of the period now under review."
