LAWN TENNIS.

Mastertoi o. Te Aro, Wellington. A series of matches batwaen a team ; of six memiiera representing each of the above clubs was played on. the Maaterton Tennis Lawns yesterday. . Play was commenced at tea o'clock in the forenoon, and continued with slight intermission all day. Altogether, there were played three ■' doubles" ana six " Binges,'- and of these Te Aro won two doubles and three singles and Maaterton one double and 'three singled, the former thus proving viotora on the aggregate score, the : totals being [Te Aro 5, Maaterton 4. j The visitors, who had coma up by ! the preceding evenmg'a train and who | left for Wellington this morning, were | entertained at lunoh yesterday by the home team.j and afternoon tea was also provided daring the day by lady membej's of the local olub.
