CHILDREN'S FANCY DRESS BALL
An exceedingly pretty sight was witnessed in the Temperanco Hall last evening, when a largo number of little people, on the invitation of Miss Purser, assembled to hold a costumo ball. Miss Purser, the hostess on this ocoasion, is about to pay a visit to JSnglnnd and this re-union was a farewell entertainment to her young friends in thetown and neighborhood, The programme opened with a Grand March in which the following charaolerß were represented ; Giels : Dora Hathaway, " Buy a Broom" ,■ Florenco Boddington, " Com» ina Through the Bye"; B, Payton, "Esmeralda"; A, Payton, " A French Fish-wife"j M. ' Dancing was kept up with spirit till eleven o'clock a numbor of young people in plain costume mingling with the fancy dresses. Tho music was kindly supplied by Mrs Paige with a little occasional assistance from Miss Anderson and Miss Payton. There was also present on tho occasion a considerable number of parents and frionds who wero onthusiastioin their admiration of the brilliant gathering, From first to last tho: ball was a complete success and the kind hostess, Miss Purser is unlikol/ to be forgotten by hor little friends during her absence from the Colony. ,
