Tho Carterton show ground is wonderfully improved in its general appearance, with its fine new grand stand, horse, exhibition, and better yards. Visitors consider it is one of tho best arranged show grounds of Us size in the Colony. Exhibits in sheep this year aro very good, especially in Lincolns and Rotnney Marsh. Mr Duncan Monaster has taken the principal prizes in puie-hred shorthorn cattle, including four firsts and three seconds. Fatquabur Gray gets clnmpiou awards for purelued shorthorn bull, and Duncan McMaster champion for purebredshorthorncow. Border Leicester are in greater force than ever before, Fat cattle are good, ns also is competition for shorthorn and purebred shorthorn. Tho judging is now proceeding. There is of course very lew people on the ground, this being mainly the day of preparation. At present it is raining slightly, mainly heat showers,
