SACRED CONCERT.
The Saluation Army Lams' Bad Tho concert given in the Salvation Army Barracks last evening, by the abovo talented company of musicians, who aro now touring tlio Contral Division of the Colony on behalf of the new War Oflioi s to bo erected in Wellington, was largely attended, The proceedings were opened by a tune on the brass instruments,' which the lasses manipulate in a very skilful and musical manner, Loud applause gree ted tho selections on tlio violins and timbrels. Ensign J, Wilson then rendered by special request "My Angel Mother," and in response to an encore, fairly brought down the house with "Quite Army You Know," Lieutonant Bain 6wectly sang a sacred solo, and was loudly applauded. " Walking on tho Waves," by Cadet Veitoh, was next rendered in an extremely tasteful manner, Tho next item on the programme, a timbrel solo by four of the lasses, would put in the shade any professional "cornermen" in the Colony, and went to provo that when managed properly, oven timbrols can be made to charm. It was greatly enjoyed by tho audience, The duet by Lieut Gates and Ondrt
Veiich; accompanied on the banjo by Ensign Wilson, was one of the items of tho evening, and was vociferously encored, "In prospect of the Valley," rendered by Lieut Gates with exquisite taste, was encored to the echo, A final duet was also sung by Cadet Teitch and Lieut Gates ,in an extremely pleasing manner. To-night the Company appear for the last timo in the Masterton Barracks. A silver coin will admit to the meeting, the proceeds to go to the funds oi the local corps. ,We should advise anyone who has not already heard I lib talented company of Salvationists to go to-night, when an excellent programme will be submitted. They are really worth a visit, as their singing, violin, banjo and timbrel playing is excellent, We might mention that Lieut Bath accompanied most of the songs on the piano, which was oue of tlio Dresden Company's instruments, and was obtained at Messrs Hood and Johnstons'. To-morrow the Company proceed to Ekotahuna to astonish and delight our friends in 'the Bush,
