Hawera, October 20th, 1892, We held a very successful clearing sale on behalf oE Mr J. Kelly on his farm at Ngaire, on Friday the 14th inst. The farm was first of all submitted to auction and being very good land was well cotnpettd for, being ultimately disposed of for ,£8 15s per acre, The dairy (though a small one) contained some choice cows and heifers, and these all sold readily, some of them reaching exceptionally high prices. We quote dairy cows and heifers £4uj) to £9los; 12 to 18 months | heifers, £2l2s 6d to £5 6d. Our bi-monthly stock sale was held at Manutabi on Tuesday the 18th inst, There were very few cattle yarded, but what were there sold readily \ enough at the following prices:—2-year-old steers, £8 15s; weanors, J>ll2s Gd.
Oar Hawera sale took place in the Glover road yards, ou Wednesday, the 19th inst. For some unexplained reason—unless we put it down to weather—only about half the number of cattle and sheep came forward for sale. Thero was a good attendance present so that we had no difficulty in disposing of every line of stock wohnd in.
We quote 3 J .year-old bullocks at £5 Is fid; 18 months to 2-year-old steers, £3 to £8 16s 6d; 12 to 18 months steers, £2 4s fid to £2lss; oows in calf, £3 6s Gd to £4. Fal sheep, 14s fid.
