Any protest uiust bo lodged with the Secretary in writinn within ten minutes after the race to which it refers has been run, and mußt be accompanied by two sovs, which will be roturned only if tho protest is sustained, Horses walking over will receive 50 per cent of the stakes. All persons intending to withdraw horses are requested to give notice in writing to the Secretary half an hour before the official tirao of starting such race. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine to bo imposed by the Stewards, not exceeding L 5. Owners aic particularly I'cgttested to obtem this rule.
