MASTERTON-OPAKI JOCKEY CLUB.

Adjourned General Meeting, \ The adjourned general meeting of the Masterton-Opaki Jockey Club was held in the Olub Hotel last (Wednesday) ovenini;, the chair being occupied by tho President (Mr A. V 7. Cave). The minutes of the last general and a stewards meeting were read and confirmed,

BALiSOE SHEET, The balance.sheet, for the last two seasons presented by the Secretary, showed the Club to he in a sound financial position, the credit in excess of all liabilities being £"5 15s sd. On the motion of Mr A. Walker the statement was received as read. It was deoided to print it and supply each member of the Olub with a copy. ELECTION OP OFFICERS, Mr A. W. Cave was unanimously re-elected to the office of President, and Messrs E. H. Waddiagton and A, A. Elkins secretary and treasurer respectively, It was decided to increase Mr Waddington's salary to £4O pei* annum, ,• The remaining offices were filled as follows :—Judge ; Mr o.' A. Vallanco; Clerk of Bcales: Mr E. B. Hare j Clerk of Course: Mr W. Iomb; Starter: Mr W. Hirschberg; Auditors: Messrs A, H. Hathaway and G. S, W, Dalrymple. The following weroeleoted stewards: Mesars T, Thompson, 0. Cowper, Geo, Druramond.E. E. Chamberlain, A. Walker, H. Yates, W, Cameron, A. Henderson, and T. Shaw.

HANDIOAPPER. Application for the position of Hanndicappur wore received from Mr A. King and J, E, Henry. It was decided that the Secretary write to both with regard to terms, and the matter be subsequently dealt with by the stewards.

10TAUSATOR, Applications were received from Messrs A. R. McFarlane and Joseph Ames to be allowed to supply maoh> mes for this racing season, It was resolved that the matter be*., left in the hands of the Secretary toV arrange the host terms possible. Mr H. M. Lyon wrote, directing attention to Eulo 22, sub-section 10 of the rules of racing, which reads as follows:" Withiu fourteen days after any race meeting, the Secretary of such meetieg shall forward to the Secretary of the Metropolitan Club a race book or card, showing the full particulars of such meeting, including the names of riders, over-weights carried, fines imposed, etc. The position of the placed horses must also be shown."

The Christchuroh Press Company wrote, asking the Club's support in publishing the" N.Z. Turf Register." Resolved that the letter be laid on the table,

The Secretary of the Wellington RaoingClub wrote, directing atten' tion to the amendments to Rule 22, which says that any Club holding more than three meetings in (he year must give an average of at least £6OO per diem in stakes, three £SOO per diem, two meetings £3OO per diem, end one meeting £l5O. SEW MEMBERS, Messrs H. Sullivan, J, Gleeson, J, Webb, J. Mandel and Wyvern Williams were elected members of the Club. '

Tho Secretary of the Wairarapa Eating Club, wrote asking the Mas-terlon-Opaki Jockey Club's co-opera-tion in obtaining representation of country clubs at future conferences of tho Metropolitan Olub. It was de- * oided to co-operate in this matter, Mr A, W. Cave proposed that a one day meeting be held on Boxing Day and an Autumn Meeting on the 17tlj March. ■ Mr A. Walker seconded the notion which was carried. It was decided to hold a Stewards meeting at 7 p,m, to-night (Thursday), The meeting then concluded with the usual vote of thanks to the chair,
