The Premier says that (lie remission of. the Debenture Tax means a loss of £IO,OOO of revenue, To remit taxation on Building Societies would mean the loss of £2,800 per annum, Mr Coleman Phillips is petitioning the House through Mr Bucbannan for a Royal Commission to enquire into the manner in which ho has been "barrassed and worried" by the Wellington Land Board, Mr Fisher is moving for a Select Committeo to enquire into the distribution of tboir auctioneering business by the Public Trustee, Official Assignee,and Railway Commissioners, The Public Revenues Bill—wbich by tho way, the Evening Press was
the only Wellington paper to publish in full, and'to criticise editorially yesterday—received a godd deal of attention in the House yesterday afternoon.
