The Electoral Bill as amendsd by the Statutes Revision Committee of ... the Legislative Council, provides uniform closing of the polls at 7 p.m.T instead of at 6 p.m. in all country electorates, and at 7 p.m. only in towns of. more .than four thousand inhabitants.' The in> terpretation :of" shearers" has been extended to "all men employed by sheep-owners during shearing time." The machinery whioh already exists in the ease of seaman's electoral rights has been extended to women. Instead of one month's residence being required in the case of fers, as inserted by the House, Committee propose to require threo months.
