GREYTOWN TEMPERANCE SOCIETY.
A Social Euening. (From our own Correspondent.) ■ The Greytowu Temperance Society held a very successful Social in the Grey town Foresters' Hall on Monday evening, at which a largo number of people assembled,
Mr A, E.Hornblow, the Secretary, in his opening remarks said that as it was a social he hoped everybody present would be sociable and enjoy themselves heartily. It was afterwards proved that his wish was more than gratified. He also stated that the time would not permit of encores.
Theusunl games were then indulged in, and at intervals the following songs, etc, were rendered, and met with muob approval: Song, "Mother's Grave," Mr W. Bales; song, "'When There's Love at Home,' MisaA. Nation; reoitation, "Who's to Blame," Mies A. Pound; reoitation, "The Match Girl," Master B. Cotter; song, "The Old Bustio Bridge," Miss N. Smith; song, "Balljbooly," Mr Wm. Eales; song, "Call Me Back,'' Mr J. Dockery, junior; reoitation," The Flower of a Potato," Master J. Bennett; song, "Poor Old Dad," Mr Wm,Eales; song, Miss Hall; song," TheFishermari and His Child," Miss Hornblow; reoitation, Miss Alderßladej song, Miss Kate Hall; Bong (cbmio) "Young Mick from Caselbar," Mr ! J. K. Hornblow; song " Scotch Brigade," Mr J, Dockery juor. ;•• A splendid and bountiful supper [was. handed round by young ladies, and was done ample justice to. The energetic jileoretary, ably assisted by Misses Wilkie (2), Seare, Hall, Hornblow, Haigh and Dockery, and Mrs: J, Dunn, worked hard, and to them the succesß of the affair is largely due. ; The party dispersed at about eleven , o'clock, after spending a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
