GREYTOWN RIFLE CLUB.

Annual Meeting, The annual meeting of the Greytown Eifle Club was held in the Council Chambers on Tuesday evening, at which there was a fairly large attendance. The Report and Balance Sheet was read and adopted. As there is a scarcity of Martini" lienry rifles a nnraher havo been privately ordered from England and are expected daily. The Club have to thank Mr H. S. [zard and Dr. Bey ior the donation of a Martini-Henri Eifle, which was won by MrE. B. L, JRutkerfurd; Mr F, H, Wood for a bridle, won by Mr T, 0. Haycock; Captain Cameron for a field glass, won by Mr Alex. McKenzie; and Mr J. Hillierfora silver cup, wbigh has not yet been competed for, Only two outside matches have been fired, and those were with the Feathciston District Club. The first was with six men aside, fired at Kaiwaiwol, resulting in a win for Featherston District by .54 points- The second was at the Papawai (Grey town) range, ten men aside, and was won by the home team by 86 points, •' Tbe financial position of the Club is very satisfactory.

Captain Cameron was instructed to write to the Defonce Office to ascertain if a Government Bids Club can eject their own captain.

Mr H. Walden was re-eleote" Secretary and Treasurer, and a heart? vote of thanks was passed to him for his energy in th« past on behalf of the Oliib.

The following Committee was elected:—Messrs G. Flux, L, St. George, W. A. Tale, E. B. L. Rutherfurd, T. J. Kowse, A, L. Webster, T. Fisher and W, Brunton;

Match Committoe—Messrs E. R. L. Rutherfurd, H. Walden.and G. Flux. Mr G. Flux was re-elected auditor.

Captain Cameron briefly reported the business transuded at a' meeting of Delegates, held for the purpose of forming a Eifie Association in the Witirarapa, and re the cost of uniforms. The leggings are to be brown with four buckles, instead of black with three buckles, A vote of thanks was accorded Captain Cameron for the trouble he had taken in ascertaining the cost of uniforms. Thanks was then passed to the press for the notice they hud taken of the proceedings of the olub during tho past year, and a vote of thanks to the chair closed the meeting.
