MASTERTON HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.

The Trustees of the Masterton Hospital met at the Borough Council Chambers on Tuesday afternoon. There were present Messrs J, C, ■jfedington (Chairman), J. B, Keith, B.P.Perry, G, S. W, Dalrymplo, Rev. Father McKenna, and W, Sellar, (Secretary,) The previous meeting's minutes were read and confirmed, The Secretary reported that the Hospital account showed a debit balance of £Bl la lid, or of £55 after paying tho present current accounts, but that subscriptions which cojld, shortly be got in Bhould place it-in credit again, On September 18th the total number of patients in tho Hospital was nine, all males, as against ten males in August. During the four weoks just ended two males and one female had been admitted and three males and oue

fomalo had been discharged, the latter having died in the institution. The Chairman remarked that the total cost of the repairs and alterations at tho Hospital, and which were now nearly oompleted, would be £294 10s exolusivo of drainage. Tho Chairman also mentioned that an acoount for patients fees owing by a man named Shannon, since deceased, had been rendered to the Public Trustoo who was administering tho estate. Mr Dalrymple proposed letleiing or numbering the wards for reference purposes, as now there wore fivo wards available at tho Hospital. The Chairman conourred. It was decided to number tho wards, as suggested. Mr Dalrymple said that ho would givo a bedstead nnd tnatlrass towards furnishing the new ward. The Trustees accepted the offor with thanks.
