Fortune-Teller in Trouble.
[By Telegraph.—Press Association.] Auckland, Saturday, Mrs Cowan, otherwise known an Madame Lenobia, was charged at the Police Court >ith a breach_of the Police Offences Act, by imposing on Mrs Parker, by fraudulent representation, undertaking to tell her her fortune by cards, with a view to obtain money, Mrßaume, who defended, argued that tbe.offence was not within the scope of the Act, The Magistrate said the English clause dealing with palmistry and witchcraft, wan not included in the Act, He upheld the contention .and dismissed the information.
