ALLEGED HORSE-STEALING.
Arrest at Mauriceuille. Sergeant M'Ardle proceeded to Mangamakoe, Forty-Mile Bush, yesterday morning, and, to company with Constable Koche, of Eketahuna, searchedforayoung mannamed Frank George Pittoclt, on a warrant issued from Wanganui, charging him with having in May last stolen a hoi F8 belonging to a Native named Tahana, of Humerville, Tho accused, who is a young mim, about twenty years of age, and a stranger to tkedistriot, was arrested lastnightbyConstableßoohe, He is said to be one of a party of immigrants brought out by Mr W. Courtney, of Taranaki, some months ago, and is repotted to have good connections at Home. The aocused was to appear before the Court at Eketahuna this afternoon and be remanded 10 Wangauui.

He also expressed an ambition to represent the Masterton Electorate in the House of Eepresentatives. His neme was Frank George Pittock.l
