The steamshTjjrowners not only intend to reduce the seamen's wages, but efforts are being made to reduce the overtime rates paid to wharf labourers, It is understood that the Steamship Owners' Association has resolved to reduce wages £1 per month, and that similar resolutions have been adopted by the Victorian and South Australian Associations. A manifesto has been issued to seamen, urging them to io3ist on the maintenance of the existing rates.
