MASTERTON BOROUGH LICENSING BENCH.

Qnarterty Sitting. The quarterly sitting of the Masterton Borough Licensing Bench was held at noon to-day (Friday), thero bein? present Messrs G. Heron (Chairman), T, E, Ohambelain, J. Hessey, W. Perry, and J. Williams. MINOTES. The minutes of the previous quarterly and adjourned meetings were read and confirmed, with slight amendment. TOLICE IIEPORT, ,JThe police reported that the Star Hotel was tho sixth hotel in Queen Street, It was a wooden building with iron and shingle roof, and was fairly furnished and clean, The hou3e had been conducted very well during the occupation of the holder of the temporary license, and bad characters

were not knowingly harboured now. Tho necessary fire escapes were provided, and were in good repair. There had not been any complaints against any of tho other five hotels during the quarter, THE STAR HOTEIi, Mr E, J, Searl applied for a transfer of the license of the Star Hotel to Mr J, 0. Eastwood. On the motion of Mr J. Williams, seconded by Mr T, E, Chamberlain, the application wbb granted. This was all tho business.
