Campbell, alias Lowe.

In tbo Supreme Court to-day, Frank D, Lowe, aliat Campbell, was charged with obtaining the sum of £2 from Arthur Lodder, one of the proprietors of the City Buffet Hotel, by means of a valueless cheque. Lodder . gave evidence that the accused was lodging at the Hotel and came to him saying lie was short of money and asked him to cash a cheque for £lO. He declined, but cashed one for £2 for him. The cheque was returned not ,j|j)rovidcd for, The other evidence was much the sarao as in the other case. At 11.30 the Court adjourned until noon to enable evidence to be taken of Mr Smith, manager of t]ie Bank of Australasia, who will arrive by the piidday train from Masterlon. Later, Henry H. Bank of Australasia, deposed that he saw Campbell on the sth July, He came lo the bank and arranged for a 15 overdraft, staling that ho was going into the country.
