(By Diooenes),
The match in which so much interest has been centred of late, betweon the Printers and the Blacksmiths and Cabinetmakers of Masterton, was played on the Park Oval yesterday afternoon and was witnessed by a large number of people, The ground was in a sloppy condition, but this made tho game the more inteafc 1 ing. During the first spell the pay was fast and furious, and, from the' spectators' point of view, highly amusing. Some of the players, howover, wereseverelyoutof "forme," and to keep in tho scrums and within reasonable distance of the ball was a matter of the extremest difficulty. One representative of the " Fourth Estate" had the misfortune to collide j with a village blacksmith, the musoles ( of whose brawny arms were as strong a 5 iron bands. But the scars and wounds only show how fierce was the battle, The exposition of tho game of football was roally wonderful I During the first Spell the only score was a try obtained by Grant for the Blacksmiths', but in the seoond the Printers went fairly into "pi," and allowed their opponents to get over the line three times.
