ACCIDENT TO A GASWORKS.

Wanqanui, Tuesday. An accident occurred at the gasworks this morning. A gust of wind oaught the bolder on the north side, canting it over, tho result being that thirty-five thousand feet of gas escaped. The reason assigwd for tho collapse is that the holder was originally badly constructed, tho grade wheels and frame work having too muoh play, the slightest gust of wind causing the holder to ocillate. About ten years ago a similar accident occurred.'' The damage is estimated at £l5O. A staff of workmen is now busy. It is hoped gas will be supplied to-morrow (Wednesday).
