The following are some of the demands formulated by the Naoier Knighta ofLabotir:— / That the Government be askodioplace.a tax of £IOO on Chinese immigrants, similar to the tax now levied by Canada. Tiiat the Government be requested to take , steps to reduco tbo.standard rates of inter , est on moneys of Public Trust, Post Qfljlf and Government Insurance to 5 per cent. That the assembly should urge tbo Government to resist as mu'oh 03 possible 1 the dual vote:
That the Govemmont should be urgod to lond the special Bottlers money to the extent of half the value of the improvements; That the Government should bo urged to make Civil Service situations competitive by examination.
That.the Government ba urged to givo tho. Vailcßystema trial on one section of the railway. , That, in the opinion ot the delegates now assombied, tho present management of our Government railways under Commissioners by which adults—especially married menare being driven from their employment: to malio room for boy labour, is most detrimental to tho colony, and Ministers are earnestly requested to terminate the presont arrangements at tho earliest possible moment,
That coal being an important New Zealand product, easily accessible, abundantly plentiful, and extremely valuable for the profitable working of our railways and theprosecution of our raanufaotunug industries, the Government be urged without delay to initiate the working of tho more valuable mines as a State industry.
