HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR.
Visit to Masterton. His Excellency the Governor (Lord Glasgow) and twite, arrived in Masterton by special train at 1.15 p.m. to-day (Monday). The party comprised, besides His Excellency, Lady W Glasgow, Mrs Alex, Boyle, Miss Hallowes, Lady Augusta, Dorothy and Alioe Boyle, Captain Hunter Blair, and Mr Clayton, A.D.C.'s, Sir George Whitmore, Sir P. A. Buckley and the lon. Mr Walker, ML.C. The Vice-Regal party was met at the station by His Worship tho Mayor and Borough Councillors, Mr Hogg, M.H.R, and a number of prominent citizens. They were driven in coveredin conveyances to the Club Hoto), where a lunch wbioh did credit to HfraElkins was partaken of, Notwithstanding the hot that a heavy shower of rain was falling, a large crowd congregated at the Club Hotel 10 catch a glimpse of the representative of Her Majesty as he emerged from his cab, The distinguished visitors wore ■ driven to the fish ponds and various places of interest in the town after lunch, and were to leave on the return journey at 3.15 p.m.
