Market deport for the Week.

Masterton, August 26. The New Zealand Load and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited,, report on the produce markets for the past week as follows : Wool.- No change of any moment has oconrred in the market for tbis staple since date of our last circular, and it may be anticipated that no material alteration in values will transpire till opening on 18th September of next series in London. Clips suitable lor America have had good attention, and realised satisfactory prices, and we should expect this to be the case in the approaching sales. ' ■ ' ;.; Sheepskins,—About the üßual number have been disposed of during the week by our Wellington house at prices equal to those quoted last week, viz,, dry crosabreds, half wool, Bsd to 4d per lb, and three quarter and full wooled up to 6d per lb, green skins up to 5s each, Hides.—No change to report, a good demand for heavies still exists, which we quote up to 3Jd pp.r pound. Tallow and Fat.—The consignments roceived at Wellington have been smaller than usual, the demand has been somewhat Keen and there is a slight advance in prices; we quote:—prime, 18s to 19s; inferior to good, 15 to 17s; and rough fat 12s to 13s Gd per owt, Oats,—Prices in the South have advanced, and the Wellington market is consequently firmer. Large quantities have been Bold recently at for short feed 2s to 2b 2d on wharf, Wellington... Fowl Wheat and Babley.—The market remains without alteration, and prices are unchanged. Chaff.—All consignments reaching us are disposed of at late rates. Grass Seeds.—There is a fair en- , quiry for spring sowing, and quotations are as follows:—Southern rye grass, machine dressed, 4s 3d to 4s 9d; Poverty Bay, 6s. to Gs! 9d, Pacey's, 48 Gd to 4s 9d all ex store Welling. ton.. The, demand for Cocksfoot is limited and fairly good, Seed is selling at 2|d per pouud, ! Fbozen Meat— Our London manager cables, under date 19th inst,, as follows:—Mutton, market firmer. Canterbury is worth Bfd and Wellington 3Jd per lb, The lamb market is easier; prime ■ New Zealand lamb is worth, per a carcase, 5 5-Bbbs pence per lb. Beef market quiet; forequatters is worth 2 s~Bthspenca and hindquarters 3Jd 1 per 18.
