MASTERTON.-FRIDAY, (Before Colonel Roberts, R. M.) DEPOSITING HIQHTSOIL, John Jones pleaded guilty to haviu» deposited nightsoil on the premises of Kow Kce, contrary to the Borough by-laws, He stated, however, that he did it in ignorance of the law. A fine of 5s and 5a costs was inflicted. MAINTENANCE. Mrs Ejnkerton applied for a protection order against her husband, Charles A, Pinkertou, aud also for tbo maintenance of her children. Mr Beard appeared for tho applicant. After the hearing of evidence' the Bench granted tho order, the defendant to contribute £1 a week for the maintenance of his family.
