Tenth Annual Ball, The annual ball, held in tho Drill Hall last evening, under the auspices of the Masterton Football Club (| surpassed if anything the usual standard of excellence, between sixtjlftid seventy couples making up in sovia* bility what they lacked in numbers, All arrangements were carried out in a meat complete manner by a popular Committee, and with such a capable Secretary as Mr R, J. Malcolm, vicecaptain of the club, at the head of affairs, the success of the ball did not comoas a surprise. The floor was perfect for dancing, and has never been in better condition, The land* scape scenery which adorned tho wiitle looked exceedingly pretty, and the flags and evergreens, intermixed with banners, monograms, and photos of nearly every football team in the Colony, set off the interior of/the building splendidly. ■ The handsome silver cups, won by the Club, .we're seen to advantage, and many were the. congratulations passed "'P the proud players during the eveninsf, upon' the b/illiant victories pf'tho. past. Messrs Pownall, Perry, D/Arov and Malcolm made very'eTJcient. Aj.O.'s and ministered to the enjoyment o! the gay ones with their |floal courtesy, flerr von KeißenjPtg'a String Band faithfully upheld .its excellent reputation by giving the company a iplendid programme of now music, and everyone waß loud in praise of its efforts; . The supper, under the supervision .of Host' Wiokeus, was all that could be dei sired, and the rapid style in which the edibles disappeared tob very complimentary to tho provider.
