NORTHWAIRARAPA BENEVOLENT SOCIETY.
The monthly meeting of the above Society was held in Mr E, 1L Waddingtou's office, Perry-street, Musterton, this morning. Present: Messrs Galloway'(chairman), Stuukey and Gappcr, Correspondence for the month was received as read,
t Tenders for the burial of deceased dosttmie persona were received and dealt with, that of Mr T. Jago being accepted for the Borough of Masterton and the Mnstorton Road District, and thatofMr Z.M. Hoar for tho Mauriceville, Eketahuna, and Alfredton Dis-. tricts. MrW.G. Bard, attended to explain the position in regard to the action ponding against the Wui.ganui Clwrituule Aid Board, It was derided to hring the action on as early as possible. A statement of accounts in Mrs Clifton's children's estate was laid before the meeting, and it ras re solved that consideration be left over until noxt meeting, pending payment of the moneys promised, A letter was received from the
Inspector-General enclosing a copy of certificate of incorporation of the North Wairampa Benevolent Society, registered in 1886, It was resolved ro advise the Tiniaru Charitable Aid Board that the Trus-
tees do not consider themselves responsible for the telegrams appearing in the various papers of the" Colony alluding to the case of the woman who Walked to Masterton,
It was resolved to take action against 0. A. Pinkerton to compel him to contribute towards tho support of i his family, before any further relief is granted.
Resolved that expenses incurred on behalf of a Carterton resident bo charged against that district. A case in which a family named Kilmarten, residing at Newman, Forty-Mile Bush, were reported to ho _ destitute, came before tho Society, It was decided to send thorn back to, Wellington and charge the cost to the Wellington Society, the I family having been forwarded by tho Labour Bureau about four months ago. It was resolved that in future no casual relief he granted to able-bodied men, It was also resolved that in future a detailed account of stores supplied be endorsed by the storekeepers upon tho back of tho orders issued by the Society, showing what goods are obtained by the bearers of tho orders. A voto of thanks was accordpd to the Dorcas Society for personally visiting the cases referred to thein, and supplying clothing. The action of tho Secretary in supplying casual relief during the month was approved, and relief in the regular cases was ordered to bo continued as beforo.
Accounts amounting to £37 13s 8d woro passed for payment, also £lO to the imprest account. Tno meeting then adjourned,
