SHOCKING ACCIDENT.

Misfortune to an old Mastertonian. (by eleotrio telegraph.) (From Our Own Correspondent). Gbeytown, Friday. fA shocking accident occurred to Mr J), S. Papworth, who is well-known in Masterton, shortly after twelve o'clock to-day. He was tying a sack of wheat at his flour mill, when the rope ho was using became entangled around his arm and he was drawn up to an iron bar connecting with the machinery, about ten feet from the floor, and thrown violently around the bar, fulling heavily to the ground. Tho engine was at once stopped, and he was convoyed to the hospital, where his injuries wero attended to by Drs Boy and Smith. It was found that tho arm of tbe unfortunate man was shattered in two places, one of his ankles broken, and a linger out off.
