SAD BOATING FATALITY.

Termination of a Fishing Expedition. Four Men Drowned, [by telegraph—press association,] New Plymouth, Wednesday. f An inquest is being held at Waitara on the bodies of three men drowned at Waitara on Monday night. Evidence was adduced to the effect that Peter Petersen, John Harris Dan Eeavy, and Arthur Larseri started on a Ashing expedition in a whaleboat on Monday morning, The weather was fair, and in the evening the boat was seen coming - in. As nothing was seen of the men next morning, their absence caused much alarm, and a Native who was gathering wood on the beach brought information in to Waitara that he had seen a dead European there. A number of persons wont to the spot, where the bodies of Petersen, Larson, and Harris were found, but no trace of Reavy was to be seen, The accident ia supposed to have occurred when the party were trying to cross the bar after dark. No vostige of the boat has been seen. Eeavy leaves a wife and several ohildren. Petersen and Harris are married men, the latter having three children. Keavy was a good swimmer, but on several occasions he had very narrow escapes from drowning on the Waitara bar, and was always confident he could swim ashore. He was one of a party who were capsized on the bar a short time ago,
