EDUCATION BOARD.
The monthly meetihg.of the Wellington Board of Education was held 1 yesterday morning, there beingpresent Messrs J. B, Blair (chairman), F. H. Fraser, 6. Beetham, W.C. Buchannan, J, Young, W. A, Fitzberbert, W. W. McCardjc, Eev J. Paterson and Dr Newman. Wages, salaries, etc, amounting to £806914s 7d were passed. - On the motion of Mr Beetham, seconded by Mr. Fraser, Mr Fitzherbert was elected to the vacanoy on the Teobnioal Sohool Committee, caused by the departure of Mr A, W. Brown. The Kaitawa Committee wrote enclosing tenders for erecting a fence round the school grounds.' ■ The Board decided to ask for further information. The sum of £2 was voted to the Tauherenikau Committee to pay the cost of clearing the gorse off the grounds. - An application from the Pahiatua Committee for a vote of £lO for Various expenses was granted. , Tenders for the erection of a new Infant School E,t Masterton, and for additions to the Vogeltown and Levin schools, were opened, and the lowest tender in each case was accepted.
