SATURDY, JULY 23, 1892. FARMERS' CLUB.
Being the extended title op the Wairakam Daily, with which it is IDENTIOAI.
The Masterton Farm ers' Club is now an established fact. It has started well, and is supported by some of the leading settlers of tho district, The prosperity and influence of its career will of course depend upon the individual efforts of its members. A similar Ulub has recently been established in the Waikato district, and it has been a great boon to the settlers of that part, It iff the mouthp'ecG of the farming community and acts the part of the watchdog to things political, At its last meeting the following important subjects were dealt with: —Land open for sale, small birds nuisance, lung worm, dishorning cattle, stallion parade,' Chriatph'urch Conference, rer gard to the resolutions passed at the conference, the olu'o disagreed with the one favouring the establishment of peripatetic dairies of instruction, apd also the one favouring the abolition of the sheep tax. One other matter dealt with was the subject of the alleged adulteration of New Zealand butter. This matter was thoroughly discussed, and eventually it was resolved, "That this Olub views with regret the alleged adulteration of New Zealand butter in London, and would draw the attention of tho Government to the great ajnqunt of damage that will be done to the New Zealand butter industry, urging the Governinant tp sjft t[ie matter thoroughly."
