(PBEBB ASSOCIATION.} Auckland, July 22. The City Council, while agreeing with tho Department of Agrioulture as to the desirability of tree planting declined to doclare Arbor Day a holiday. It was decided that a reply be sent to the effect "that as the oitizens of Auckland wero already sufficiently alive to tho importance of the subject, a public b:liday was not considered necessary by the Council." Some Councillors thought we bad too mauy holidays already,
