Sydney, July 21. Tho Government have arranged a loan of half a million at 4$ per cent., with four years' currency. The money will be obtained from the New South Wales Savings Bank, and the Colonial Treasurer will be abie to carry on until the end of the year without further borrowing. London, July i'l, Colonial stocks are very firm, as a good many people are investing in them just now. The Times slates that £550,000 worth of debentures will bo offered directly by a prosperous New Zoaland industrial concern. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company will shortly issue half a million of 4 per cent, debentures at 96.
