EKETAHUNA NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
. Eketauuna, Saturday, The public appear to be taking a great interest in establishing a Public Library in this township, 1 A good sum has already been subscribed, and it js expected that tbe Committee will havo some definite proposal with regard to a site, etc,, at the next meeting which 1 is to be held on the 28th inst. . The Newman people must be congratulated upon their concert in aidof the Piano Fund held in the Wesleyan Church, Eketahuna. It is surprising what musical talent can bo mustered when any deserving object wantß cjjfideration. The singing of some Oithe children was quite a treat, and altogether tbe concert must be looked upon as a great success, There should be a good balance, towards the fund, The weather, at length, appears to have broken, and the last couple nf days have been quite like spring. I hear complaints of short feed on evory .side, and should we have much more fiard weather, I am afraid it will place hose'who have their farms well stocked in a difficult position,, as the lambing season is so closo.
