At a large public meeting in Welling, ton lost night the following resolution was carried by acclamation:—"That this meeting strongly disapproves of the proposal to compensate publicans, wtioso licenses may be refused renewal, out of the local or general rovenue, and trusts such a proposal will not be entertained by the New Zealand G ovornment."
