Gypsy Encampment at Greytown.

This entertainment, held in the Palace Theatre at Greytown last evening, «us exceedingly well attended. Its object was to raise funds for the purchase of an organ for St Luke's Sunday School, and a consideiable sum was obtained for this pur-po-u The Greytown Private Brass Band played selections on the hall balcony prior to the commencement of tboperformance.whiolt greatly added to the evening's enjoyment. Preceding the" Gipsy Encampment, 1 ' the omus ing extravaganza " Box and Cox" was played, Mr J. Barnard taking the place of Mr E. Qant (who is just recovering from a rather serious illness) as Mr Box. This piece kept the audience in roars of laughter throughout.

Subs quently the Gypsy encampment wf,3 performed by a number of young p ople, in such a manner that it was nm'e evident that a great deal of time and trouble had been spent in preparatirn, The tableau, representing a dyi' g gypsy in camp, was excoediug'y good. Groat credit is due to the management and the young folk themselves for. the eGcient manner in which they carried out the programme. The costumes were nlso very p>et y and varied, and the stage formed a striking resemblance to a Gypsy camp. This programme will probably bo repeated in Greytown, Mastodon, and Martinborough, when we feel sure there will be bumper houses,
