Hoskinq v.rßeethain, TheQwf)jstnisßc& In the Jlasterton Court t'nia moraine, Golonol Roberts, K.M., delivered the following judgment in thecasein which William H.Beetham, Chairman of the Masterton Eoad Board, was charged by J)t Hoaking with having discussed a question at a' meeting of the Board in'which haijad a direct or indirect interest. jKk from that iu common wifiithe publio:—l have carefully considered the section under which the charge is laid and the evidence adducod in support of it, and I am of opinion that it 1 has not been proved that ihedefendant has any interest within the meaning of the section, apart from ihat in common with the' public. The case' is therefore dismissed. Court costs 24s and counsel's fee 21s were allowed the defendant.
