(Press Association.) Inveroaroilli, July 7. To-night tho Invercargill Borough Oomicil passed unanimously the following motion, proposed by Councillor J, W. Bain, ox-M. 11. R.: —' Moved hereto by the desire to recognise distinguished publio services, this Council places on record in the minutes the deep regret of the burgesses of Invercargill at the death of Sir Harry Atkinson, Speaker ol the Lejislatite Council, and tbit a copy «f this resolution be forwarded to Lady Atkiiifon.' Tho Mayor said that having had the privilegeof personal acquaintance with Sir Harry Atkinson, lie could boar leftimony to the fact tlmt ho was a man whose wbolo soul was devoted to the well-being, progress and prosperity of tho Colony. i
